Once Upon a Time

I also forgot that I am in the Once Upon a Time fandom, which will be referred to as Once from here on out. This show is the only show in my list of fandoms that is currently still running and that I have access to. I don't have BBC so I can't watch season 8 of Doctor Who yet. Doctor Who is for another post though, so back to Once. Since it is still running, I decided to do my own personal review of the new episodes. I haven't watched this week's episode yet though, so we will start with last week. I tried to post this two days ago but my computer wouldn't let me publish it so  I saved it instead. When I logged on to try and post it again, it had only saved the first paragraph. Now I am aggravated that I have to go hunt down all of the epic gifs I had and reload them all. Plus I don't really remember what I wrote.

The last episode I watched was titled White Out, which aired on 10/5. I may stick to mostly photographs even though I love gifs from this point on in this post. My computer is really struggling. I think that White Out was the best episode I have seen in a long time due to the fact that it was awesome in the Captain Swan department. I ship them like UPS. They are my OTP. I really just love Hook in general. Allow me one more gif:
I have to have two:
I made that one extra large so we could appreciate it more. Okay I promise that is all of the Hook gifs for this post. Now back to discussing White Out. I loved Hook's absolute pathetic panic when Emma was trapped in the ice. I know, I am a horrible person, but I am glad that Emma got trapped because I loved all of the shared moments they had due to it. My cat is currently standing in my lap as I type this and is doing everything in her power to keep me from typing. She keeps almost falling so she is putting her claws into my legs. Anyway, I loved when she hugged him as soon as she got out and then he carried her. It was so sweet. Back at the Charming apartment, he wrapped her up in a bunch of blankets and then held her hand. I loved when they zoomed up on their entwined hands.

I can't find a worthy photograph of them, so we will move on. I liked how Elsa and Emma got along. I hope their relationship deepens and doesn't go the opposite direction. I think they are a lot alike and have a lot to learn from each other.

I also want to talk about how Snow is mayor now. I think that is good for the citizens of Storybrooke, but the stress of baby Neal and being mayor is going to get to her. I also think that it was kind of weird that turning on the fuel line fixed the power problem, but I am an electrician's granddaughter so that may be why.

Okay, who was that woman at the end? I appreciate that she uses her power to make ice cream, because ice cream is the greatest invention of all time, but she should stick to ice cream and not evil because she seems pretty powerful. I know this week's episode kind of explained that, but I haven't watched it yet. I will watch it soon though.

I hope that Elsa finds Anna soon. I think it is pretty cool that David/Charming has met Anna before. Now time for my Kristoff rant. I hate this Kristoff! He doesn't look anything like Kristoff, he isn't a good actor, and he doesn't act how I imagine Kristoff would. It is just awful. Kristoff was my favorite character in the movie.

That is the end of my musing on Once Upon a Time. Be on the lookout for my analysis of this week's episode, Rocky Road. Also I have a rant about Disney up my sleeve that I will be posting next week probably. Please tell your friends if you enjoy my posts, and follow or add to your blog reading list. Comment if you have something to add!

Forgotten Fandom

Yesterday on my introduction post, I left out one very important fandom: Clannad!
 (SPOILERS AHEAD)

If you have never heard of this show, you need to go educate yourself. It is the best anime I have ever watched. It is the only one I have ever watched actually, but I am certain that it is the best. I actually wish I had watched other animes before I watched this one because it is so perfect I feel like no anime will ever live up to my expectations. This show has also aided in giving me unrealistic expectations in men. I am only 17, so that isn't something I need to worry about yet. I just have to trust that the Lord has someone like Tomoya Okazaki in store for me. Anyway, back to the point. Nagisa and Tomoya are unforgettable characters. At the beginning of the show, Tomoya hates the town he lives in and he only has one real friend. I am not going to attempt to spell his name at this point in time. He meets Nagisa at the bottom of a hill and she is talking to herself.

They end up walking to school together. He decides to help her bring the drama club back, and their friendship builds and deepens throughout the first season. They make more friends along the way: Fuko, Kotomi, Ryou, Kyou, Tomoyo, and many more. At the end of the first "season" (I put it in quotes because there is technically only one season, but there is another show titled Clannad Afterstory and I will refer to it as season two) Tomoya asks Nagisa to be his girlfriend. Cue the tears.

Oh, did I mention that this show will turn your face into Niagara Falls? You will cry your eyes out. One thing I love about this show is the love story itself. This anime is in the romance category, and yet they never even kiss. When their relationship begins, they are super awkward about it.
It doesn't take long for them to embrace their status as a couple though, and eventually in "season" two, they get married. The first gif on this post is from his proposal.

This is from when they are officially married.  Afterstory is so beautiful. Every other episode will make you cry. I am not kidding. Do not think from these beautiful gifs that I have posted that this is a super fun lighthearted show. It is, but it also has several sad moments. I have a guy friend who cried. This isn't always a happy ending.  Here is a sad gif to prove my point:

That is Ushio, Tomoya and Nagisa's daughter. I am not going to tell you what happens in regard to her and their family, but something incredibly tragic does happen. Now I would like to return to the happy moments since I am in tears just thinking about this.

There are some incredibly funny characters in this show, including Tomoya's bestie Sunohaura and Nagisa's dad Akio. Akio is my favorite secondary character of the whole show. He is insane. Not literally, but yeah. If you have watched the show you know what I am talking about. One of the many reasons I love Akio:

I could go on and on, but I just realized how long this is. I hope I haven't spoiled anything for anyone. I love this show because it is romantically adorable, tragic, and I can just really relate to Nagisa. In short, if you haven't watched this, please do. It is on Amazon Prime with subtitles, as well as YouTube with your choice of subtitles or dubbed over in English. I prefer subs, but you may watch what you please. The person who dubs Tomoya in the dubbed episodes make him sound cold in my opinion. Tomoya is cold at the beginning of the show, but even when he is nice in the dubbed his voice sounds cold. I plan on diving in to this show later and analyzing it in the way I analyze short stories, plays, and poetry in my Comp. 2 class. If you would like to have a deeper discussion on this show or have any questions, comment and start an open discussion in my comment section. If you have just stumbled across this blog, please read my first post which was an introductory post. Thanks for stopping by! (I leave you with a video of the best song known to man, as sung by Tomoya to Ushio)

Hello There!

Hi there everyone! I am Addie Oliver. That isn't my real name, I just want my real identity to remain a secret for privacy reasons. Think of it as a pen name. If you enjoy geeky things, random rants, and kitties, this is the blog for you. I also have a wordpress, but I didn't understand it so my brother suggested making one on here instead. His blog is theworthymarshallblog.blogspot.com. If you are into amazing photography and and cars, his blog is perfect for you. As you can tell, I am a big geek. I love and am in the following fandoms:

Disney
Doctor Who
Sherlock
Star Wars
Star Trek

Studio Ghibli (Howl's Moving Castle is my favorite)

Superheroes in general (Captain America is my favorite)

Broadway

Merlin
Robin Hood (BBC)

LOTR/Hobbit

Harry Potter

There are so many others, but I don't want to bore you. I also really love to read, hence the book background. I am sure there are some posts about books in this blog's future. There is one more fandom that I am in that no gif in the world would be able to describe. This fandom is more like a Kingdom. I am talking about the Kingdom of God. Jesus is my Lord and Savior, and I will be talking about my faith withing this blog on top of all the geeky. Thanks for stopping by and please follow, comment, and tell your friends about me!

*Update: There are actually quite a few fandoms that I forgot about because I was so excited that I figured out how to put gifs on here without going through the long process I kept seeing when I googled it. I will be posting long posts about those forgotten fandoms and then continue on to the fandoms I listed here. My plan is to give you a brief summary of these fandoms and tell you why I love them. Thanks again for visiting!
